Why join Genethon?

Genethon welcomes you: six compelling reasons to bring your skills to a meaningful mission.

Six good reasons to join us

Joining Genethon means becoming part of a collective where scientific innovation, public interest, and human commitment go hand in hand.

Putting your expertise to work for Genethon means contributing to a clear mission: designing and developing treatments for rare diseases in an environment renowned for its scientific excellence, cutting-edge technologies, openness, and wealth of expertise.

It also means contributing to an ambitious project, directly connected to patients and their families, by joining a pioneering gene therapy laboratory, rooted in a unique non-profit model.

1. A pioneering laboratory dedicated to rare diseases

Genethon is recognized as one of the world leaders in gene therapy.

From basic research to clinical trials, our teams cover the entire development process for innovative treatments for rare genetic diseases. Our programs are based on high-level scientific expertise, supported by more than 80 different professions.

In 2024, 50 new people joined us to contribute to this dynamic, alongside the 221 employees already committed to the cause.

2. A team united by strong values

Determination and conviction. Openness and cooperation. Boldness and innovation. Rigor and excellence.

Deeply embedded in our culture, these paired values shape our daily lives and the way we work together.

At Genethon, every individual is valued for their contribution to the collective mission. Our diversity — with over 20 nationalities represented — enriches our scientific quality and strengthens team solidarity.

3. A fully embraced civic mission

Thanks to the support of the AFM-Telethon, Genethon pursues a unique mission: To design and develop gene therapy treatments for rare diseases long considered incurable and to make these innovative treatments available to patients.

Our commitment goes beyond the laboratory: every year, our teams mobilize for the Telethon, a unique event, and engage in outreach activities in schools and welcome the general public during Science Day or laboratory visits.

This ongoing connection with patients, families, and society fuels a mission that goes beyond scientific achievement: advancing health, together.

4. A balanced and fulfilling work environment

At Genethon, quality of life at work is more than a policy: it is lived reality.

We offer concrete measures to promote balance and long-term commitment:

  • A dedicated support unit for difficult situations.
  • Up to three days of teleworking per week (depending on the role),
  • Flexible working hours,
  • Right to disconnect,
  • 24/7 psychological support when needed,
  • Housing assistance

These tools are designed to foster long-term commitment while respecting each individual’s journey and life stage.

5. Concrete and Responsible HR Commitments

Our compensation policy follows the pharmaceutical industry’s collective agreement, with:

  • A transparent salary scale
  • Enhanced seniority bonuses
  • 75% reimbursement of public transportation costs
  • Additional leave for specific situations (moving, sick children, exams, etc.)
