GenoTher Summit 2026: driving collective momentum to accelerate genetic medicine

On June 17–18, 2026, GenoTher, the France 2030-certified biocluster dedicated to genetic medicine, hosted the second edition of the GenoTher Summit at the Maison de l’Océan in Paris.

Over two days, around the theme Accelerating the Future of Genetic Medicine the event brought together a global community of +400 experts coming from academia, clinical centers from on profit organisations, biotech, big pharma, regulatory and investment.

More than 40 international leaders from leading institutions in France, across Europe and worldwide shared their perspectives on the most pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the field.

Genetic medicine has entered a phase of rapid acceleration, with a growing number of approved therapies already transforming the lives of patients and expanding far beyond rare diseases. The challenge now is clear: how to scale these breakthroughs, by addressing scientific, regulatory and financing hurdles, and by building integrated ecosystems like GenoTher to ensure that no patient is left behind.”

Frédéric Revah – President of GenoTher and CEO of Genethon

Key highlights included:

  • A strong focus on the shift from Nof1 therapies to deployable platforms
  • In-depth discussions on delivery technologies, biomanufacturing and clinical translation
  • A dedicated session on artificial intelligence as a catalyst for therapeutic innovation, showcasing real-world applications
  • Strategic roundtables tackling key industry questions, including the future of AI in drug development and the path to industrialization.

More than a conference, the GenoTher Summit acted as a catalyst for collaboration, fostering dialogue and connections across the ecosystem.

Participants benefited from:

  • high-level international keynotes,
  • sessions about platforms,
  • curated networking and partnering opportunities,
  • and direct access to GenoTher’s ecosystem and capabilities.

“A highlight of the Genother Summit was the testimony of Terry Pirovolakis (Elpida Therapeutics), who shared his journey to fund a treatment for his son affected by a rare disease. At Genethon, we are familiar with these powerful stories of highly committed and determined parents fighting to bring new therapies to their children. Hearing this testimony again during the summit — and witnessing the emotion it sparked among the audience — was a strong reminder of the deeply human dimension at the heart of gene therapies.”

“The summit also confirmed a major trend: gene therapy is no longer limited to rare monogenic diseases, with emerging applications in epilepsy, obesity-related conditions, and Parkinson’s disease, illustrating a true shift in scale for the field., that is truly inspiring and exciting”

The success of this second edition confirms the momentum that has been built and the need to continue these discussions in support of therapeutic innovation.

Genethon thanks all participants, speakers, and partners for their commitment alongside GenoTher to advancing genetic medicine.ts et partenaires pour leur engagement aux côtés de GenoTher en faveur des avancées en médecine génétique.
